This is the reverse version of the Kanchanaburi and Kingdoms of Siam Bangkok to Chiang Mai tour. But this tour starts in Chiang Mai and then makes its way to Bangkok. Over the three days, you will see the highlights of Lampang, Sukhothai, Ayutthaya, and Kanchanaburi!

TOUR DESCRIPTION

Day 1 - Bangkok to Kanchanaburi
Prepare to start early on this 3-day eventful Bangkok to Chiang Mai Package tour. Your first day will provide a combination of all the sights, sounds as well as colors of the floating market in Damnoen Saduak as well as bringing you to the picturesque province of Kanchanaburi. You will first stop at the Mae Klong Railway Market to see food vendors set up their market stalls directly on the train tracks. You will witness in pure amazement the scene that unfolds as the train enters the market! Our second stop as we head towards the floating market will be a simple palm sugar factory; watch the manufacturing process used in the making of sweet sugary cakes and try some as well if you have a sweet tooth. Once at Damnoen Saduak, we will use a motorboat for a ride through the network of canals and reach the floating market; you will experience firsthand the full array of colors that makes this unique market so vibrant. Jump on a paddleboat and get close to the action and have a go at bargaining for some of the numerous fresh market produce. After our market visit, we will drive to Kanchanaburi at which point you will visit the war or allied prisoners cemetery as well s the infamous Bridge Over The River Kwai. We also will visit the Thailand Burma Railway Center home to an excellent museum that will delight railway history buffs. We’ll then grab lunch, after which you can take the option to board a riverboat to get a better view of this beautiful waterway. Your first day will end at your Kanchanaburi hotel where your team will drop you off for the night.

Day 2 - Kanchanaburi to Phitsanulok
We will meet you at your hotel in Kanchanaburi and begin our road trip to the old capital of Siam, Ayutthaya. The city of Ayutthaya, located on the banks of the Chao Phraya, was once famous for being one of the most beautiful cities in the world at its height and the center of a powerful Siamese Kingdom as well. You will visit some of the ruins of over 400 temples and Buddhist statues which are scattered throughout the city. We will resume our journey north as we proceed to the historically important town of Phitsanulok where you will see its most prominent temple: Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat (Wat Yai) as well as step inside a small bronze Buddha statue casting foundry; here, you will witness skilled craftsmen and women as they practice their art in the production of Phra Buddha Chinnarat images and observe the casting process (this venue is closed Mondays and Tuesdays and on public holidays). Our second day will finish at your hotel in Phitsanulok. We highly recommend that you the evening exploring the local night market.

Day 3 - Phitsanulok to Chiang Mai
We will meet you at your Phitsanulok hotel and start the drive to the historic city of Sukhothai. This city was founded as the first really independent Thai Kingdom in the 13th century. Your guide will take you around Sukhothai’s ancient city where you can visit the magnificent temple ruins and Buddha statues at Sukhothai's Historical Park. Following your visit to Sukhothai, we will resume our drive in the direction of Lampang; we will make a stop at the city’s most important temple, Wat Phra That Lampang Luang. The temple of Wat Phra That Lampang Luang will be the last visit before making our way towards the city of Chiang Mai and escort you to your chosen hotel in Chiang Mai.
