There are plenty of locations around the north of Thailand where you can see hot springs, one of which is at Mae Khajan. Although far from the best example of hot springs in the north of Thailand, their location on the road half way between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai means they make a very popular coffee/food stop for those doing this journey. The hot springs can be viewed on either side of the main road here. Boiling eggs in the hot spring pools is popular. Location and visiting Mae Khajan Hot Springs
Located on highway No.118 approx 80km from Chiang Mai and 90km from Chiang Rai. It is probably not worth while making a special trip here from either Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai but if you are traveling the road from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai or vice versa then they make stop by here for a coffee break. Many organized tours from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle are will stop here to break up the journey.
